On January 12, 2021, I gave a lunch and learn session to Wealthsimple staff about my career and The Urban Hulk’s focus. My ambitions are to look at the intersection of responsible investment and urban planning. I spoke about how investors can address deforestation, coastal infrastructure and ecological resilience.

A green bond is a fixed income product (debt) that is issued to finance environmental projects. For example, the City of Toronto announced a green bond in December 2020 that would be partly dedicated to flood protection in the Port Lands. In the same month, green bonds reached USD $1 trillion in global cumulative issuance since 2007.

Wealthsimple is a leading Canadian company providing investing solutions without the high fees associated with traditional investment management. Sonam Ringpa, Inclusion and Employee Experience Manager, at Wealthsimple, asked me to run this session and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity. You can watch the session here.
